The Brooklyn Wedding Expo comes to Deity Wedding Venue and Event Space on Sunday, April 13th.  It will feature 25+ vendors from Atlantic Avenue and Brooklyn. The Brooklyn Wedding Expo was created to showcase local small business vendors, from this unique avenue of Brooklyn’s main street.

 With so many stores ranging from designers with traditional flare, to something a little more European to contemporary design, we have just the experts to make it happen. Everything is customized to fit you and what you want your dream wedding to be. At the Brooklyn Wedding Expo you will be able to meet and greet the shop owners, who are wedding experts, and discuss what your ideas are for your special day. We will also have an amazing  fashion show featuring wedding dress designers such as Kimera Design, Michelle New York Brides, Veka Bridal, Joy Gryson for bridal accessories and By Robert James for uniquely Brooklyn Men’s Apparel.

Our goal is to showcase a unique perspective of design and weddings from Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn. This is a one-stop shop for everything you need without leaving the building. No couple wants to have a headache while preparing for their special day; we can make that easy for you. We want you to have a unique wedding experience right here in Brooklyn, in your backyard.

 We want to grow and promote the amazingly talented small businesses here on Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn by connecting couples to expert merchants that can help create the wedding of your dreams.

In a bizarre coincidence, we have kept some of our summer dates open so that we could do some remodeling. However, we decided to move that remodel to a different time. A chance encounter at a conference in Ireland, brought Brooklyn-Based John and London-Based Debs together. Through months of Skypes and quick trips to the other side of the Atlantic, these two finally Tied the Knot in Brooklyn at Deity Wedding Venue. In an intimate Ceremony that included Family & Friends from Both Sides of the Pond.

Flowers were designed by Floral Heights and accentuated by Deity’s Romantic Candlelit Setting. String Musicians, friends of the Groom (as well as a Serenade by the Groom), added to the Ambience. The Family Style Dinner of Lamb Chops and Jumbo Prawns, was provided by Deity’s Executive Chef Jason Bunin. Followed by a Chocolate Wedding Cake and Cupcakes from One Girl Cookies, along with a Deity Catering Bittersweet Chocolate Mousse.  Photos by the Bride’s fabulous London-Based Friend Sean Tucker.

And We Can See Why!

Camille and Ralph got married in Brooklyn on a Warm Summer Day. The Festivities began with a Fun Photo Shoot of the Bridal Party at Jane’s Carousel in at the Foot of the Brooklyn Bridge. This Gorgeous Antique Carousel was the perfect backdrop for our Classic Beauty, Camille. George Street Photography captured the Big Day’s best moments.

 The Party moved on to a Joyous Ceremony followed by a Reception at Deity Wedding Venue in Downtown Brooklyn. The Bride’s Vintage Aesthetic was reflected in details like a Typewriter for Guest Sign-in and Programs hand made like a “cootie-catcher” from elementary school. Floral arrangements were provided by Quinn Florist from Astoria, Queens, where the Couple resides.

Friends and Family pitched in to create the Desserts which included Cupcakes & Empire State Building shaped Cookies as favors. The Late into the Night Reception included an Ice Cream Bar, a Major Dance Party, and of course More of the Groom Gazing at his Beautiful Bride. Congratulations you guys!

Aja & Jacques were married in August at Deity Wedding Venue in Downtown Brooklyn. The Vision of the Day was Summer, with a  color theme of Blue & Cream. The Bride stunned a Grecian Style Chiffon Dress, perfect for the Season, while the Groom in a Classic Tux.

Florals of Cream and Blue Hydrangeas to carry on the Theme of the Day for the Ceremony were arranged by Kristine Dunson. The Bride wanted a Romantic look for the Dinner that transitioned from Day to Evening.  Tall Floating Hydrangea & Candle arrangements were Created for the Effect.

Sometimes you attend a Wedding and you walk away with a feeling of complete joy. That all is right int he World and that Love Rules. Such was the case with Kevin & Hadiya.

On a pleasant Summer afternoon, these two were Married at Deity Brooklyn Wedding Venue. Family and Friends gathered around them for a celebration that would not be forgotten.

The Bride wore a vintage inspired, beaded slip dress and carried pink of-the-season Peony bouquet. The heartfelt speeches of the Couple as well as the Guests set the tone for this Joyful event. The traditional Hora around Deity’s Tree of Life set off a dance party that would cap off a day full of Energy and Love.

This Brooklyn Bridal Party dazzled in the Summer sun. This wonderful burst of color and energy was captured by Le Image Photography. The Party worked it’s way through the sites of Brooklyn for these mesmerizing shots.

After the photo shoot, the Amazing day continued at Deity Wedding Venue in Brooklyn. The couple was married in the sunlit Loft. Followed by a Family-Style dinner as the sun began to go down.

The Bride continued the gorgeous Pops of Color to the dining tables with magentas, greens, and yellows reflected not only in the floral arrangements but even in the delicious food. The day ended on a Sweet Note with a Cake from Betty Bakery.

At first, I was reluctant to go with an all-inclusive venue because of the restrictions on the caterer, dj and decor. But the gamble my husband and I took paid off as our wedding day was amazing!
The staff at Deity treated our parents like royalty (my mom’s words precisely). They were so polite, attentive and accommodating. The day-of coordinator, did an impressive job of making sure the entire event ran smoothly, even though the ceremony started late. Kudos to you sir.
The owner of the venue was always responsive and helpful throughout the planning process. Although I didn’t hit it off with Kristine, who heads up the decor, she did a good job of bringing my vision together. Deity is such a beautiful space, with exposed brick and big windows, that you don’t need much decoration.
If you need to have a lot of control over every detail of your wedding, then this might not be the place for you (wedding planners are not allowed). I thought I did, but I’m so happy that I let go and trusted a great team with experience.

“It’s amazing to witness and document Cee Cee and Guillermo’s proposal at Times Square, engagement photos at Prospect Park, and now the grand finale, their wedding at Deity in Brooklyn.  What’s even more amazing is how this power couple is able to plan and execute such a fun wedding in less than three months!  Their special day is full of love, joy, happy tears, and a ton of energy!  I can sense their excitement when they were getting ready at the chic Nu Hotel.  Afterwards, we rushed to the Brooklyn Bridge Park to catch the last bit of sunset.  I bet you can’t tell from the portraits of these two and their awesome bridal party that it was freezing cold and windy!  They’re total troopers I’m telling you!  I loved how when the wind was blowing Cee Cee’s vail in all sorts of directions, she just held on to it, and struck a pose =D!  After braving the weather, we headed to their ceremony and reception venue, Deity, a cool renovated synagogue.  Since Cee Cee, Guillermo, and a lot of their friends are dancers, I knew the reception will be crazy fun.  My high expectations were exceeded when this couple pulled off not only a beautiful first dance, but a well choreographed father and daughter dance!!!”

Cristina & Jonathan married on a bright October Day at Deity Wedding Venue in Brooklyn.

Mint and Gray was the color scheme of the Day, down to the mint Converse sneakers of the Flower Girls, peeking from underneath the dresses. The Bride stunned in a Lace dress and Veil, escorted by a Bridal party in the color theme.

Mint Oversized Balloons with cascading Tassels and Twinkle Lights provided the backdrop for the the Ceremony and Dinner. The Ceremony aisle was lined with Pom Poms in mint and gray, accented by candles. The Couples own Daughter delighted guests as she announced the Bride down the aisle.

“Puppy Love!

You would never guess that this wedding was in October when viewing the warm and inviting photos of Neddie & Enrique! They wed at the popular Deity and it couldn’t have been more romantic!

Our team started with the blushing bride and her bridesmaids (including the couple’s puppy who was too cute in her pink flowered collar!) at the venue, as she got ready for her big day. Her bob was styled into cascading waves and topped with a sheer diamond encrusted veil. She wore a beautiful ivory strapless David’s Bridal wedding dress that flared at the bottom. We loved the less traditional colorful boutique with sunflower accents.

After their ceremony the couple and their guest headed to the lower level to celebrate. The venue decorated the space beautifully with glowing candles on the tables and a crystal dripped tree as the main centerpiece. The newlyweds opted for the popular cupcake tower option and topped it with cute puppy cake toppers.

“We recently had the great honor of capturing the spring wedding of Melinda & Anthony, another Deity Lounge couple. Our photography and video team started out with the beautiful bride at her home, as she got ready for the big day. This wedding is the perfect example of “less is more”.

Melinda & Anthony chose subtle but elegant touches for their wedding to really keep the focus on the intimate moments of the day. She wore diamond Contessa Di Capri studs to compliment her half up hairstyle with cascading curls. Her pastel bridal boutique and ivory lace wedding dress paired perfectly with the traditional cathedral veil. Her groom coordinated with a light gray suit and ivory tie.

They married at St. Bernadette Parish of Brooklyn, NY before heading over to one of our favorite portrait locations, Brooklyn Bridge Park for fun wedding party photos.

The reception was a blast and everyone let their hair down and celebrated with the happy couple. Deity Wedding Venue is a great choice whether you are looking for an elegant sit down dinner or a more casual lounge feel. Melinda and Anthony’s wedding had the perfect blend of traditional elements and fun and we were honored to share in their big day!”
